02 · How we build a cold store
Eight phases. One team.
One contractor accountable from survey to service. A cold store fails at its weakest link: a floor that heaves, a joint that leaks, a system charged before it was tested. This is the order we build in, and what you receive at each step.

Phase 01 / 08
Survey & brief
What we do
Site survey: access, floor, power supply, drainage and space for plant
Product, temperature and humidity ranges; daily intake and door traffic
Hygiene, fire and authority requirements, including Qatar Civil Defence
You receive
A documented brief and survey record that the design is built on
Phase 02 / 08
Heat load & design
What we do
Heat load: transmission through the envelope, air infiltration at the doors, product pull-down, people, lights, fans and defrost
System selection: condensing units, central racks or ammonia, with redundancy where the stock demands it
Panel thickness, doors, airflow and racking laid out together
You receive
Load calculation, equipment schedule, shop drawings and a fixed programme
Phase 03 / 08
Floor & slab
What we do
Underfloor heating or ventilation beneath freezer rooms to stop frost heave
Vapour barrier and insulated floor, levelled for racking and forklifts
Floor rail set out to the survey, so walls rise square
You receive
A floor that stays flat for the life of the building
Phase 04 / 08
Insulated envelope
What we do
Kingspan or Boxcold panels cut to the survey and locked with cam-lock joints
Every joint sealed; hygienic coving where food or pharma is stored
Polidoor cold storage doors with heated frames on freezers, strip curtains and dock seals
You receive
A sealed, square envelope, checked before any refrigeration goes in
Phase 05 / 08
Refrigeration & air
What we do
Evaporators placed for even airflow across the stock
Condensing units or central racks in the plant room, Danfoss controls and valves
Copper brazed with nitrogen flowing, then insulated with Thermobreak
You receive
A complete system, installed to the approved drawings
Phase 06 / 08
Pressure test & charge
What we do
Standing pressure test with dry nitrogen to the manufacturer's test pressure
Deep evacuation, then a vacuum decay check for leaks and moisture
Refrigerant charged and weighed in only after both pass
You receive
Signed pressure and vacuum test records
Phase 07 / 08
Commissioning & pull-down
What we do
Controllers, defrost cycles, set points and alarms configured and tested
Pull-down test with the room empty and the doors closed, then a hold test
Temperature mapping and qualification support for pharma and healthcare stores
You receive
A commissioning record showing the room at temperature
Doha ambient +35 °C+35Inside the freezer °C
Phase 08 / 08
Handover & 24/7 care
What we do
As-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals and warranties
Training for your operators on controls, alarms and door discipline
Planned maintenance, spare parts from our Doha counter, emergency line 24/7
You receive
One number to call for the life of the facility
Typical sequence for a design-and-build cold store; each project follows its own approved programme.
03 · Solutions
Six disciplines. One contractor.
One scope, one schedule, one warranty, from the first load calculation to the hundredth service visit.

Iceberg, the mother company
Antoine Farjallah founds Iceberg, a metal-furniture workshop making refrigerated showcases for shops and groceries. Iceberg becomes the mother company of the group, and its name is still on the refrigeration units we install today.
